The Bishop, Clergy, Religious and Laity of the Diocese of Tuticorin welcome you. The Diocese of Tuticorin is situated in the South East of Tamil Nadu State, in South India. The main language spoken our people is Tamil The diocese of Tuticorin comprises the major part of the Tuticorin district, nearly half of the Nellai district and a small portion of the Kanyakumari district.

Taking into account the spiritual needs and other development of the people of State
Bank colony and the surrounding area, Bishop Peter Fernando made this as an independent parish with Fr. Rajareegam as its first parish priest on the 11th of May, 2001. As there was no church or rectory, the parish priest stayed at the Sacred Heart Senatorium and said daily mass at the chapel and Sunday masses at the temporary shed.
Foundation was laid the bishop for the new church on 7-9-2001. With help from the Propaganda Fide,Rome,Italy and that of the parishioners and other benefactors, the church was built within 10 months
Construction of New Church
The new church idea was began at 2020, since the existing church building has undergone some damage due to the floods caused in previous years. It had to be demolished, suggested the church and civil authorities. Hence a new church has to be built. The new church building foundation laying ceremony was inaugurated most Rev.Bishop.Stephen on 14th february 2020. The new church construction was started in September 2021.
